I just got some great pictures  and a sweet note from one of my brides last year…where does the time go?

“Hey Sherry,

 A friend was asking for wedding vendor recommendations which led me back to your website and beautiful photos.  You did such an awesome hair and makeup job for me and I wanted to thank you again.  I also can’t remember if I sent you any of my pro pics.  I’ve attached my favorite shot of the makeup you did.

Jennifer was blessed with naturally curly hair (one of my favorites!), so I used Tigi Bedhead Spoil Me on her hair prior to styling.  It’s great for defrizzing curly hair and giving it instant shine.  Then, I used a small iron to define some of her curls so there was a mixture of natural and more polished curls.  To finish the look, I just pinned a few sections out of her face for a soft, half-up look.

Jennifer wanted soft make-up, so I just perfected her skin with a bit of foundation and defined her eyes with a bit of liner and lashes…the look was completed with a rosy glow on the cheeks and lips.

I love how shiny and polished her curls look and the soft tendrils falling around her face.

Jennifer’s sister, Amy is also gifted in the hair department, so I had fun doing a coordinating style on her.

One of my lovely brides just showed me this great website that’s like Craigslist for wedding dresses:

www.preownedweddingdresses.com.  You girls may have already seen it, but I thought I’d share it because I love a good bargain!!  You can buy and sell dresses and even search for a specific dress and some of them are less than half of the original retail price.  I especially loved these two Monique Lhullier dresses:

Joe Latter just sent over these pictures of Melissa, whose wedding we did a couple of weeks ago in Laguna Beach.  Melissa was so much fun to work with…she has a bubbly personality and a great outlook on life.  Her excitement on the wedding day was contagious!

Melissa has a short bob, so it was a really refreshing change to get to work with her hair.  We decided to do soft waves and pin back one side with a decorative clip.  If you have short hair, this is a great option for your wedding day!

Melissa got married at Seven Degrees, which has a modern, elegant aesthetic and she wanted that reflected in her make-up.  I used Satin Taupe eyeshadow from MAC, which is a gorgeous plum brown.  We did brown eyeliner on top only with individual lashes.  Her natural lashes are REALLY long, so I had to use a longer length than normal.  I used my favorite Tarte cheek stain in Flush and Bobbi Brown lipstick.

I am so excited! Angie opted for individual lashes and I’m glad she did…I love how they look in this shot:
