Susan’s Wedding in Lake Arrowhead

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Susan got married in Lake Arrowhead this past August at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa.  I met Susan through Kristen, one of my brides from the month before (She’s pictured far right in the photo with the bridesmaids).  They were in each other’s weddings, so it was great to be able to work with them both twice!! Susan’s photographer Sarah K. Chen  did a phenomenal job, as you can see below…

Susan has AMAZINGLY clear skin, so we barely used any foundation…that is pretty rare! She wanted a fresh, natural look with emphaisis on the eyes and lashes.  She is a huge fan on Revitalash…those lashes are all hers baby!! I know, totally unfair…but she claims it’s from the  Revitalash.  Susan wanted soft, wavy texture in her hair that rolled back in twists from her face…I think it really suited her overall look and the feel of the venue.  Mandi came along and did hair for the bridesmaids :)

Carmen’s Wedding

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Carmen was so kind to send us some of the great photos taken by Film Vitel.  Tessa and I did her and her bridesmaid’s make-up one morning in Pasadena and then headed over to the Make-up show down the street at the convention center…Perfect!!

Anyhow, Carmen was just beautiful…gorgeous skin and eyes and wanted something natural with an emphasis on the eyes.

For Carmen, I perfected her skin with MAC Strobe Cream and RCMA Foundation.  I used a deep plum blush and really focused on highlighing the high points of her face for dimension.  I used a lighter golden brown on her lids with a black liner to make her eyes pop.  The girls did their own hair :)  Carmen’s favorite lipliner is Chesnut from MAC (A definite must-have for darker skin tones!), so we used that and filled it in with a bit of nude gloss.

I like how dreamy these shots are with the veil…

Esther’s Pro Pics!

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Esther and her husband met on a car website of some sort (I think they have the same kind of car).  Anyhow, when they decided to get married, their mutual friend and person that runs the car website offered to come out from Florida to shoot their wedding.  So cool! Anyhow, the photographer’s name is Tony Schreiber and he did such a great job!

Gettin’ ready….

The finished look…

The happy bride!

Don’t they look great!?

I LOVE her flowers!!!

Thanks Esther! We are so happy to be a part of your wedding :)

Jennifer’s Pro Pics

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I just got some great pictures  and a sweet note from one of my brides last year…where does the time go?

“Hey Sherry,

A friend was asking for wedding vendor recommendations which led me back to your website and beautiful photos.  You did such an awesome hair and makeup job for me and I wanted to thank you again.  I also can’t remember if I sent you any of my pro pics.  I’ve attached my favorite shot of the makeup you did.

Here’s a link to a LOT of photos in case you want to browse.  Thank you again for making me look so good!”

 -Jennifer

Jennifer was blessed with naturally curly hair (one of my favorites!), so I used Tigi Bedhead Spoil Me on her hair prior to styling.  It’s great for defrizzing curly hair and giving it instant shine.  Then, I used a small iron to define some of her curls so there was a mixture of natural and more polished curls.  To finish the look, I just pinned a few sections out of her face for a soft, half-up look.

Jennifer wanted soft make-up, so I just perfected her skin with a bit of foundation and defined her eyes with a bit of liner and lashes…the look was completed with a rosy glow on the cheeks and lips.

I love how shiny and polished her curls look and the soft tendrils falling around her face.

Jennifer’s sister, Amy is also gifted in the hair department, so I had fun doing a coordinating style on her.

Here is Jennifer’s favorite make-up shot…how gorgeous are her eyes?!

The happy bride…

Thank you, Jennifer for sending these photos! What great memories :)

One crazy weekend!

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Well, last weekend was pretty busy for us On Location Beauty Girls.  We had 3 weddings on Saturday and one on Sunday, so we have a lot of photos to share with you.

I started the morning in Diamond Bar with Mini, who was referred by the beautiful DJ, one of my brides last year.  You may have seen her photos in my portfolio on www.sherrymcanelly.com, but just in case, here she is: Her photographer was Andrena Photography, an amazing photographer with a big heart who actually does a lot of Indian weddings.  Love her!

Anyhow, Mini and I had a pretty early start, so I was lucky enough to grab a quick shot before she had to head out to her ceremony.  As you can see, her sari was beautiful reds and golds, and she wanted to use those colors in her make-up.  We did auburn and gold eyeshadows with black eyeliner and big lashes.  We finished the look with true red lipstick.  I can’t wait to see her pro pics!

Meanwhile, Mandi and Tessa were busy working with Kirsten and her girls in Costa Mesa.  Mandi did everyone’s hair and Tessa did everyone’s make-up.

Here is Kirsten before and after…I couldn’t resist including the before picture because she’s so darn cute.  I love how her hair turned out and can tell her make-up was amazing.  Great job girls! And how cute are her bridesmaids?

Later in the day, I jetted off to Pasadena to work with Angie and her maid of honor, Natasha.  They were both BEAUTIFUL Serbian girls with amazing bone structure, which made my job super easy.  Thanks ladies!  I started with Natasha, who happens to own a really cool company called 2 Chix. (Maternity wear for the haute momma!) Check out their site…they have reallly cute stuff!  For Natasha’s look, we did clean glamour with full lashes and strong top eyeliner.  She had a really cute flower to pin in her hair, so we did a simple, low chignon.

Angie had trouble deciding between having her hair up or down, so I loosely pinned it up so she could take it down for the reception.  To give her hair lots of silkiness and shine I blow-dried her hair with Kerastase Oleo-Relax and pinned each section after blow-drying in a large barrel curl for maximum volume. I even used a little bit of dry shampoo in her roots for extra volume and lift.  To finish it off, I used a medium barrel curling iron to create soft waves and loosely gathered it to the side.  She purchased these really cute hair accessories from Chia Lieu Bridal in Tustin.  Here’s their address if you want to check them out: 362 E. 1st St. Tustin, CA 92780.  She said they had great stuff and were very reasonable.  Here are the pieces she purchased:

Angie’s make-up was a lot of fun for me.  It was clean and classic.  I used dark brown eye liner on top with a little bit of black in her lash line for extra pop.  I used some individual lashes to beef up her lash line.  Her cheekbones were so amazing that I really had the most fun with blush.  I think I used at least 5 colors! Ha ha! She brought a super cute MAC compact of lipglosses and the color we chose resembled MAC Prrr Lipglass.  Here’s her final look: Of course, I will share more photos if I can get some pro pics from her photographer :)

On Sunday, Marilyn and Mandi went out to Long Beach to do hair for Vanessa and her bridesmaids.  they all look stunning…I like how each girl’s hair is slightly different…it lets everyone show their individual style :)

Thanks everyone for a wonderful weekend!!
